The Government of Bangladesh has launched a National Rooftop Solar Program targeting 520 upazilas across the country. The goal of this mega initiative is to increase renewable energy generation and reduce carbon emissions. To ensure successful implementation, the Power Division, SREDA, and relevant agencies are working in continuous consultation with stakeholders.
The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) is actively engaged in this program as a private sector representative and is working closely with the government. Most recently, on 13 July 2025, BSREA participated in a stakeholder consultation held at the SREDA conference room, where it presented several important recommendations and proposals.
To support the implementation of this program, we are forming a technical expert committee, where professionals from the sector can actively participate.
