BSREA Collaborates with DCCI to Organize Seminar on “The Electric Vehicle (EV): Challenges and Prospects in Bangladesh”

The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), in collaboration with the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), successfully participated in organizing a seminar titled “The Electric Vehicle (EV): Challenges and Prospects in Bangladesh” at the DCCI Auditorium.

The seminar brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, development stakeholders, and private sector representatives to discuss the opportunities, challenges, and policy priorities for accelerating electric mobility and sustainable transportation in Bangladesh.

The programme commenced with registration and opening remarks delivered by Mr. Taskeen Ahmed, President, DCCI, who also moderated the open floor discussion and highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between public and private stakeholders to support the growth of Bangladesh’s EV ecosystem.

Representing BSREA, Mr. Mostafa Al Mahmud, President, BSREA, joined the distinguished panel discussion and shared perspectives on the importance of integrating renewable energy with electric mobility, promoting investment-friendly policies, and creating an enabling ecosystem for sustainable transport solutions in Bangladesh.

The panel discussion featured representatives from industry, government, academia, and sector experts, creating a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and dialogue on the future of electric vehicles in the country.

The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished Special Guests:

  • Mr. Abun Naser Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Industries, Government of Bangladesh
  • Mr. Mohammad Wahid Hossain ndc, Chairman (Senior Secretary), Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC), Government of Bangladesh

The seminar concluded with a MoU signing ceremony with BSREA, reaffirming the shared commitment to promoting innovation, policy engagement, and sustainable energy solutions for Bangladesh’s transportation sector.
