The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) facilitated the participation of more than 60 representatives from its member organizations at the Policy Conclave on “Energy Security & Transformation of Bangladesh,” organized by The Daily Bonik Barta on 22 July 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka.
The high-level policy dialogue brought together policymakers, government officials, regulators, development partners, industry leaders, investors, and renewable energy stakeholders to discuss Bangladesh’s energy security, renewable energy development, and the country’s pathway toward a sustainable energy transition.
The event was graced by Hon’ble Minister Mr. Iqbal Hassan Mahmood, MP, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, as the Chief Guest. Special Guest was Hon’ble State Minister Mr. Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, MP, Ministry of Planning, while Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), attended as the Guest of Honor.
BSREA President Mostafa Al Mahmud joined the conclave as one of the Distinguished Panelists, representing the renewable energy industry alongside leading policymakers, academics, business leaders, and energy experts. During the discussion, he emphasized the importance of creating a stable and inclusive policy environment, ensuring equitable fiscal incentives across the renewable energy value chain, and strengthening collaboration between the government and private sector to accelerate Bangladesh’s clean energy transition.
Through BSREA’s facilitation, member companies had the opportunity to engage directly with senior government officials, regulators, and industry leaders, sharing practical experiences, policy recommendations, and industry perspectives on improving the investment climate and advancing renewable energy deployment in Bangladesh.
As the country’s leading renewable energy industry association, BSREA remains committed to strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors and ensuring that the voices of its members are effectively represented in national policy discussions. The association will continue to facilitate constructive dialogue and advocate for policies that support sustainable investment, innovation, and the long-term growth of Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.
