The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in promoting sustainable energy, green industrialization, and increased private sector engagement in Bangladesh.
The MoU signing ceremony was held in Dhaka on 27 June 2026. On behalf of BSREA, the agreement was signed by Engr. Md. Ataur Rahman Sarker (Rojel), General Secretary, while Dr. A.K.M. Asaduzzaman Pathowary, Acting Secretary General signed on behalf of DCCI.
This strategic partnership aims to foster cooperation in advancing renewable energy adoption through research, policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and advocacy initiatives. Special emphasis will be placed on facilitating access to green energy solutions for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and encouraging private sector participation.
Under the agreement, BSREA and DCCI will jointly work on:
- Research, market analysis, and knowledge initiatives on renewable energy and the green economy
- Organizing seminars, workshops, webinars, conferences, and roadshows
- Policy recommendations and dialogues to support a business- and investment-friendly environment
- Capacity-building initiatives for professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers
- Expanding green energy adoption across SMEs
- Promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and innovative technologies
- Conducting joint research, pilot projects, and advocacy initiatives to address sector challenges
Both organizations believe that expanding renewable energy adoption is essential for Bangladesh’s sustainable economic development, energy security, industrial competitiveness, and climate resilience.
To support implementation, a Joint Working Group will be formed to develop action plans, oversee activities, and monitor progress under the partnership.
Through this collaboration, BSREA and DCCI aim to unlock new opportunities for green investment, innovation, and sustainable private sector growth while contributing to Bangladesh’s broader green transition journey.
