BSREA Engages in Policy Dialogue on Advancing RMG Sector Decarbonisation

The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) participated in a policy dialogue titled “Industrial Decarbonisation in the RMG Sector: How to Take it Forward?”, organized by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) on 16 August 2026 at the BRAC Centre Inn Auditorium in Dhaka.

The dialogue brought together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, researchers, and other stakeholders to discuss practical pathways for accelerating the transition towards low-carbon and energy-efficient production in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector.

Mr. Mostafa Al Mahmud, President of BSREA, joined the session as one of the panel discussants, contributing to the discussion on the role of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and supportive policy measures in advancing industrial decarbonisation.

BSREA’s Senior Vice President, Zahidul Alam, also participated in the discussion, representing the perspectives and priorities of the renewable energy sector.

The discussion highlighted the importance of technological innovation, access to finance, supportive policy frameworks, and stronger collaboration among government, industry, and other stakeholders to facilitate the RMG sector’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.
