The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), in association with Savor International Limited, organized a seminar titled “Energy Security at Risk: From Import Dependency to Renewable Transition” on 18 April 2026 at SAFECON 2026 in Dhaka.
The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and energy experts to address Bangladesh’s growing energy challenges amid global market volatility and rising import dependency.
The seminar was graced by Jalal Ahmed, Chairman of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission, as the Chief Guest. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Md. Ziaur Rahman Khan, Professor at BUET, while the session was moderated by Dr. Khondaker Golam Moazzem, Research Director at CPD.
Distinguished international guests included John Grimes, CEO of the Smart Energy Council (Australia), Scott Hamilton, Senior Advisor and Director, and Mr. Shyamal Pal Jackey, Founder & CEO of Electrifying Australia. Their insights enriched discussions on global energy trends and clean energy solutions.
The seminar highlighted the need for stronger policy support, investment, and collaboration to accelerate Bangladesh’s transition toward a sustainable and resilient energy future.
