The Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) participated in the dialogue titled “Solar Revolution in Pakistan in the Eyes of Country’s Leading CSO: Lessons for Bangladesh from National Budget Perspective,” organized by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) on 23 June 2026 at La Vita Hall, Lakeshore Hotel, Dhaka.
Representing BSREA, Mr. Mostafa Al Mahmud, President of BSREA, joined the session as a distinguished discussant alongside policymakers, researchers, energy experts, private sector representatives, and development stakeholders.
The dialogue featured a keynote presentation by Mr. Muhammad Basit Ghauri, Manager – Special Initiatives and China Program, Renewables First (Pakistan), who shared insights into Pakistan’s rapid solar energy expansion and the policy, fiscal, and institutional measures that accelerated renewable energy adoption across the country.
The discussion explored how Bangladesh can draw lessons from regional experiences to strengthen renewable energy policies, improve investment readiness, address fiscal barriers, and accelerate the country’s clean energy transition under the national budget framework.
During the session, BSREA contributed perspectives from the private sector and emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment through supportive policies, investment facilitation, and long-term planning to unlock Bangladesh’s renewable energy potential.
