The Bangladesh
Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) has officially signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB)
to collaboratively advance a Just Energy Transition in Bangladesh. The MoU was
signed on 01 March 2026 by Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid
Bangladesh, and Mostafa Al Mahmud, President of BSREA.
This
strategic partnership marks an important step toward ensuring that Bangladesh’s
transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy is inclusive, equitable, and
socially just. By combining BSREA’s industry expertise and network with
ActionAid Bangladesh’s commitment to social and climate justice, the
collaboration aims to strengthen national capacity in renewable energy
governance, climate finance, and gender-responsive planning.
Under this
partnership, both organizations will jointly work on:
-Policy
advocacy and multi-stakeholder dialogue
-Joint research and knowledge exchange
-Climate and energy finance innovation
-Gender-responsive and community-centered energy planning
-Promotion of distributed and decentralized solar models
The
partnership is non-financial and non-exclusive in nature, focusing on advisory,
facilitative, and advocacy-oriented collaboration. It reflects a shared vision
of accelerating Bangladesh’s clean energy transition while ensuring energy
access, affordability, community resilience, and decent livelihoods.
Through
this collaboration, BSREA and ActionAid Bangladesh reaffirm their commitment to
fostering sustainable development and building a greener, fairer, and more
resilient Bangladesh.
